Rosary for Florencia R. Rivera, 84, of Post was held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, Dec. 23, 2003, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Ralls. Services were held Tuesday, December 23, 2003, at the same church with the Rev. Leonardo Pahamtang officiating. Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.She died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, at Golden Plains Care Center in Post. She was born Nov. 7, 1919, in Austin, TX, to Ramon and Guadalupe Lopez Roa. She married Jim Rivera, Sr., June 24, 1946, in Old Glory, TX. He died in 1961.
She was a member of the Catholic Church and a homemaker. She had lived on the Price Thomas Ranch and left there in 1969 when she moved to Tahoka. She moved to Post in October of 2002.
She is preceded in death by one son; Angel Rivera.
Survivors include; five sons; Jim Rivera, Jr., David Rivera, Paul Rivera, George Rivera and Fermin Rivera al of Post; four daughters; Elvira Morales of Edinburg, Elena Navarez of Frederick, OK, Alicia Salinas of Post and Delia Sepeda of Mew Home; eight brothers; Pet, Carmelo, Jesse, Wally, Tony, Joe, Justin and Roberto Roa; three sisters, Acencion Salazar, Romana Behne, Aurelia Grove; 28 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Rudy Ri vera, Gilbert Rivera, Albert Rivera, Baldemar Morales, Ben Nevarez, Simon Salinas.
