RALLS (Special) — Services for H.M. Reed, 76, of Buffalo Springs Lake will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Ralls First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Sam Estes, minister of Outreach of Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Lubbock, and George Estes, pastor of Cumberland Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

Reed died at 5:28 a.m. Friday in University Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Bridgeport and married Marjorie Marie Ragle on July 18, 1938, in Idalou. She died on Dec. 20, 1987. He graduated from Crosbyton High School and attended business school in Lubbock. He was the former owner of Security Abstract and Title Co., which he donated to the Southwest Collection at Texas Tech University. He was a farmer and rancher and he helped build the New Mexico State Penitentiary. He was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Lubbock and the New Mexico Mounted Patrol. He moved to Buffalo Springs Lake in 1975.

Survivors include a daughter, Kay Wilsher of Lubbock; a brother, Elmer of Lubbock; a sister, Goldie Brown of Crosbyton; two granddaughters; and three great grandchildren.
