Services for Norman Bryan "Beans" Reed, Sr., 88, of Ralls were at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the Ralls First Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Carson officiating. Burial followed in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Beans passed away on Monday, March 10, 2008 at University Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born January 16, 1920 in Graham to the late James Henry and Juanita (Bryan) Reed. On November 18, 1947 he married Imogene Winn in Ft. Worth.

He moved to Ralls in 1924 from Graham and was a 1938 graduate of Ralls High School where he was a four sport letterman. Beans was a member of the Ralls First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and also as a greeter for several years. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII and played on the basketball team where he was stationed. He was a member of the Quarterback Club, the Anglin Rosesever American Legion Post, Booster Club and former member of the Ralls Jaycees. He helped with Little League Baseball, the Ralls Rodeo and was a former Boy Scout leader and received the Silver Beaver award. Beans also served as a member of the Ralls Historical Museum Board. Beans and Gene were honored as the Ralls Chamber of Commerce Family of the Year in 1971. He worked for Bennett Auto Parts as a salesman in Ralls and Lubbock.

Survivors include; his wife Gene of Ralls, two sons and their wives; Bryan and Linda Reed of Anton, Hank and Deb Reed of Keller, a brother; Sam Reed of Weatherford, five grandchildren; Rebecca Jane Reed of Justin, Amanda Kay Reed of Lubbock, Robyn Jo Haston and husband Jim Bob of Anton, Daniel Reed and Katie Reed both of Keller and three great grandchildren; Justin, Chelsea and Jordan.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 PM to 6 PM at Adams Funeral Home in Ralls.

Services for Imogene Allene "Gene" Reed, 83, of Ralls were held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at the Ralls First Baptist Church with Rev. Floyd Haddock officiating. Burial followed in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Gene passed away Sunday, November 16, 2008 at Lubbock's Covenant Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born May 8, 1925 in Wheelock, Texas to the late Reagan and Ethel (Payne) Winn. November 18, 1947 she married Norman Bryan "Beans" Reed in Fort Worth. He preceded her in death March 10, 2008. A homemaker, Gene loved to travel and enjoyed visiting with people. She was a member of the Ralls First Baptist Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. Gene was also an active member of the Ralls Senior Citizens and the Red Hat Society. Gene was also active in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. She was the Crosby County Librarian, Ralls Branch for 30 years. She moved to Ralls in October of 1945 from Bryan, Texas.

Gene is survived by two sons and their wives, Bryan and Linda Reed of Anton and Hank and Deb Reed of Keller, a brother and his wife, Jack and Betty Winn of Mesa, Arizona, a sister Margaret O'Sullivan Hill of Baytown, five grandchildren, Robyn Jo Haston and husband Jim Bob of Anton, Amanda Kay Reed of Lubbock, Daniel Reed and Katie Reed both of Keller and Becky Reed of Justin, and three great grandchildren, Justin, Chelsea and Jordan Haston. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 PM to 7 PM at the funeral home.
