Obituary

Graveside services for Evelyne Lone Reed, 81, of Ralls were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004 in the Ralls Cemetery with Rev. Ken Bevel officiating.

Burial was under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Mrs. Reed passed away Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004 in Lubbock's Covenant Medical Center.

She was born April 2, 1922 in Kress, TX to C.T. and Allie Milton Stroup.

She married Durward E. Reed Jan. 28, 1972 in Clovis, New Mexico.

She moved to Ralls in 1972 from McAlester, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Church of Christ, the McAlester, OK Garden Club, the Girl Scout Model City, the Cancer Society and the Heart Association.

She is survived by her husband, Durward E. Reed of Ralls.

Durward Reed Graveside services for Durward E. Reed, 86, of Ralls were at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at the Ralls Cemetry with Rev. Larry Carson officiating. Arrangements were under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. Durward passed away Monday, June 30, 2008 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born on December 19, 1921 in Anson to the late James Edward and Lillie Mae (Harkey) Reed. On January 28, 1972 he married Evelyne Stroup in Clovis, New Mexico. She preceded him in death on February 10, 2004.

D. E. moved to the Ralls area in 1922. He was a farmer and a Baptist. He loved to play the old western swing music on the fiddle and hunt.

He is preceded in death by a son Clifford who died in 1990.

Survivors include; a son; Alton Reed of Amarillo, two daughters; Rita Cate of Amarillo and Shirley Reed of Lubbock, 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
