Funeral services for Mrs. Zama Ralls, 94, were held at the First United Methodist Church, Sunday, May 5, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. David Ray, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

She died at 6:07 p.m. May 3, in Crosbyton Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Ralls was born April 12, 1891 in Rosewood, Upshur County, Texas, the fourth of five children of Steve and Minnie [Eugenia McKenney] Williams. She married Percy B. Ralls of Ryan, Okla. on August 31, 1911, after teaching there one year.

In 1916, the family moved to Ralls, the town Percy's brother John R. Ralls founded in 1911. Percy died in 1963.

Until last year she was active in First United Methodist Church, Joy Club, and Senior Citizens. She gave support to Ralls Historical Museum. Also, her hobby of serving benefited family, friends, her church and the museum.

Survivors include two sons, Herbert of Fort Worth, and Raymond of Ralls; two daughters, Alma Hendrick and Pauline Watkins of Ralls; one brother, Moody Williams of Rosewood; three sisters, Mable Sowell of Tyler, Shirley Mitchell and Verna Powers of Gilmer; six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

A son Emory preceded her in death in 1972.

The family suggests memorials to Ralls Historical Museum, Ralls Senior Citizens or a favorite charity.
