Funeral rites for Ray Ragland, an 82 year old retired Ralls farmer, were at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church in Ralls. The Rev. Lee Fuller, pastor, and the Rev. Perry Threadgill of Lubbock officiated.

Interment was made in Ralls Cemetery.

Mr. Ragland was claimed by death the previous Wednesday night in Ralls Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.

The Whitewright native moved to Ralls 51 years ago and married the former Lillie Jones on April 16, 1933, in Ralls.

He was a deacon in Ralls First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Lillie; one son, Weldon Ragland of Plano; three daughters, Charlotte Buchmaster of Nashville, Tenn., Linda Rebber of Cooper and Stacie Hitt of Ralls; and five grandchildren.
