Rosary for Jack Puente, 80, of Lorenzo will be said at 7:00 PM, Friday, July 17, 2009 at San Lorenzo Catholic Church in Lorenzo. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 18, 2009 at the same church with Rev. Jose Kochuparambil officiating. Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo. Jack passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2009 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born August 16, 1928 in Rockdale to the late Patricio and Epimenia (Lara) Puente. On December 1, 1948 he married Maria Castilleja in Ralls. Jack moved to Lorenzo in 1943 from Rockdale and was a member of San Lorenzo Catholic Church in Lorenzo. He was a fuel driver and worked at the Fina Station, Lorenzo Grain Coop and People's Bank.
Jack is preceded in death by a son Alfredo Puente in 1951.
Survivors include; his wife, Maria of Lorenzo, three sons; Joaquin Puente, Jr. of Surprise, Arizona, Jorge Luis Puente of Austin and Roy Puente of Lubbock, three brothers; Jesus Puente of Rosebud, Anastacio Puente of Ft. Worth, and Polo Puente of Lorenzo, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
