Byron Powell RALLS (Special) - Services for Byron E. Powell, 75, of Ralls will be at 4 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Floyd Haddock, pastor of First Baptist Church in Hobbs, NM, officiating.

Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

He died at 1:10 p.m. Saturday at Crosbyton Clinic Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born in Farmersville and moved to Ralls in 1940 from Mt. Blanco. He married Hazel Rogers on Aug. 12, 1934, in Floydada. He was a retired farmer and served on the Ralls Co-op Gin Board for 13 years. He was a member of Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, three sons, Donnie and Melvin, both of Ralls, and Elvis Dean of Lazbuddie; two brothers, Herschel of Lubbock and Henry of Garland; two sisters, Queen Annie Lawson of Floydada and Gladys Herman of Muleshoe; eight grandchildren; and four grandchildren.
