Services For S. H. Porter, 80, Held in Ralls
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Ralls First Baptist Church for Sam Houston Porter, 80, who died at his home in Ralls at 4:30 p.m. Sunday following four months of ill health.
The Rev. Tommy Allen, pastor, officated. Rev. J. Harvey Scott, pastor of the Petersburg Baptist Church, assisted. Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter Funeral Home.
Survivors include the wife: two sons, Ben T., Lubbock, and Hilton, Petersburg; three daughters, Mrs. W. C. Onstott, San Pedro, Calif.' Mrs. M. E. Deakins, Lubbock; Mrs. charlie S. Williams, Lubbock; a brothre, Geo. Porter, Gorman; and nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Dr. James M. Stokes, John Tarleton, O.D. Stephens and Vardeman Miller, all of Ralls; and Charlie Groce and J. B. Robertson, both of Petersburg.
