Roy Don Popchoke, 41, of Ralls passed away Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010 in Lubbock. He was born Aug. 25, 1969 in Dallas to Joe Bailey and Leah Grace (Freshour) Popchoke.
On March 14, 1991, he married Terri Rodgers in Albuquerque, N.M. A lifelong resident of Ralls, Roy Don was a member and deacon of the Ralls First Baptist Church, where he was active in choir, hand bells and AWANA's. He was a 1987 graduate of Ralls High School and attended South Plains College. He was an Eagle Scout and worked at Apex Machine Shop in Ralls. Roy was a fisher, hunter and loved camping with his family. An active member of the community, he loved football and all things Ralls.
Survivors include his wife, Terri Popchoke of Ralls; his parents, Joe and Grace Popchoke of Ralls; two sons, Clinton of Ralls and Marcus Rohr of Denmark; four daughters, Lauren, Emily, Kassidy and Kylie, all of Ralls; and one sister and her husband, Robin and Ron Terrell of San Angelo. Also surviving are two nephews, Alex and Zach Terrell; one niece, Morgan Terrell; his mother and father-in-law, Kathy and Charles Hayes of Jackson, Miss.; a brother-in-law, David Rodgers of Albuquerque, N.M.; a sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Mark Travis of Colorado Springs, Colo.; as well as many other family members.
Services for Roy Don will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 15, 2010 at the Ralls First Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Bevel and Rev. T.J. Messer officiating. Burial will follow in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. Visitation will be from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Adams Funeral Home in Ralls.
