Services for Elton Irwin Polvadore, 74, of Ralls were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 1990 in the Ralls First Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Morrow, pastor, officiating.Burial followed in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
Mr. Polvadore was pronounced dead at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, 1990 at his rural Ralls residence following a fire at the residence. Justice of the Peace Jim Scott Travis ruled death accidental.
He was born August 17, 1915 in Madisonville, Texas and married Betty Katherine Green August 13, 1959 in Roswell, New Mexico. He was a farmer and had lived in the Ralls area most of his life.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine Polvadore of Ralls; 3 sons, Richard Smith of Springfield, Oregon, Timothy Smith of Sabinal, Texas and Elton Polvadore, Jr. of Ralls; 1 brother, Hillery Polvaodore of Floydada; 5 sisters, Letha Mason of Hurst, Linnie Stewart of McAdoo, Nila Brown and Oleta Davis of Lake Kickapoo, Texas and Pearl Polvadore of Amarillo; 5 grandchildren, Elton Polvadore III, Melody Smith, Amanda Smith, Jenny Smith and Amy Smith.
