H.R. Pinkston

Horace Ralphton Pinkston, 57, died at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital. Suffering from an incurable ailment, he had been in critical condition for three weeks.

Pinkston, along with sons John and Olan, operated P&S Grocery here. He resided in Ralls.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church of Ralls. Rev. C.M. Fields, pastor, officiated and Rev. Lesslie Thompson, pastor of Crosbyton Assembly of God Church, assisted.

Native of Navarro Co., the veteran grocerman first moved to the South Plains in 1930. He had operated several grocery stores in this area.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Cecil Reese, of Ralls; three sons, John and Olan, both of Crosbyton; Kelton, Ralls; three grandchildren; two brothers, Guy Pinkston, Brownfield, and Tommy Mitchell, Ft. Worth.

Interment was in Ralls Cemetery.
