James Clayton PhillipsU.S.Flag   Memorial services for Clayton Phillips, 80, of Lubbock, formerly of Ralls will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the Ralls First United Methodist Church with Chaplain Randy Hamilton and Chaplain Bob Dupont officiating. Services are under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Clayton passed away Friday, September 17, 2010 at VistaCare Hospice in Lubbock. He was born April 20, 1930 in Ralls to the late Marion James and Alice (Greer) Phillips. On December 19, 1955 he married Dorotha Jean "Dot" White in Clovis, New Mexico. A retired farmer, he was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Emma Masonic Lodge where he had served as Woshipful Master and was a member of the Scottish Rite and was a Shriner. He was a member and past Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star and a former member of the Ralls Jaycees. While living in Ruidoso he was a member of the Elks Lodge and sold real estate. He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He is preceded in death by a brother Carroll Hirst.

Clayton is survived by his wife , Dorotha Phillips of Lubbock, two daughters, LaVerna Phillips (Bob) of Pagosa Springs, Colorado and LaChana Gilbert (Jeff) of Ira, and two grandchildren, Tyrell and Laramie Gilbert.
