U.S.Flag Services for James Pearson, 60, of Port Isabel were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the United Methodist Church in Lorenzo with the Rev. Sidney Parsley, pastor, officiating.

Burial followed in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home in Ralls.

Pearson died Sunday in Corpus Christi.

A native of Bell County, Pearson moved to the Lorenzo area in 1920. He was a veteran of World War II and highly decorated for service in the Pacific theater.

His decorations include the Air Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters and the Purple Heart. He flew 43 combat missions, In the Papuan Campaign, the New Guinea Campaign. He was an aerial gunner.

He married the former Ida Mae Williams July 15, 1958, in Corpus Christi.

Survivors include his wife; his mother, Clara of Lorenzo; a son, Adam of Brownsville; and a sister, Mrs. Bryant (Wilma) Robertson of Abilene.
