Mrs. Doye Payne, 69, a former resident of Ralls, died Wednesday afternoon in a Houston Hospital after a long illness.

Mrs. Payne's late husband, Troy Payne, a registered pharmacist, operated the Ralls Pharmacy for many years. She had been making her home in Corpus Christi since his death.

Among survivors are: a son, Andy, two grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Eulala Adkins, Mrs. Frances Metzger and Mrs. Mary Foster, and two brothers, Theodore M. and L.D. McDonald, all of Corpus Christi.

Echols Funeral Home of Kenedy were in charge of arrangements.
