Last rites for Ernest A. Owens 66, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Ralls First Baptist Church. M. C.M. Fields, pastor, officiated, assisted by Mr. Austin Morgan, pastor of Apostolic Faith Church, Ralls.Owens, a resident of the Ralls area for the past 40 years died about 5:40 a.m. Friday at Big Spring. He has been in ill health about seven years.
He is survived by his wife, Opal; one son, E.A. Jr., Lubbock; three daughters, Mrs. Bobbie Billington, Lubbock; Mrs. Nina Borum, Kress; and Mrs. Helen Ruth Morris, Ralls; his mother, Mrs. Cora Rice, Modesto, Calif; four sisters, Mrs. Velma Germany Stockton, Calif.; Mrs. Nelson Winter, Modesto, and Mrs. Mary Threadgill and Mrs. Ethel Taylor both of San Francisco, Calif.; two brothers, Ed, Lubbock and Elvin, Austin; and 12 grandchildren.
