Obituary

Services for E.A. Owens, Jr., 79, of Lubbock will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, at the Ralls First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Horn officiating. Burial will follow at the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.He passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9, in Lubbock.

Mr. Owens was born Jan. 1, 1926 in Ralls to the late Earnest and Opal (King) Owens. He served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1946. On Sept. 27, 1952, he married Sue Hughes in Clovis, N.M. and then they moved to Lubbock. He was in the meat business for 28 years and retired in 1993. Mr. Owens was a member of Broadview Baptist Church in Lubbock. He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Patsy Goodson; and a nephew, Donny Ray Goodson.

E.A. is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sue Owens; four sons, Ron of Van Nuys, Calif., Steve of South Carolina, Carl of Idalou, and Robert of Lubbock; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Helen Morris of Lorenzo, Bobbie Billington of Lubbock, and Nina Borum of Kress.

Sue OwensServices for Sue Owens, 74, of Lubbock will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, May 18, 2007 at the Ralls First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Horn officiating. Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Sue passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at her home in Lubbock.

She was born February 23, 1933 in Detroit, Texas. On September 27, 1952 she married E. A. Owens, Jr. in Clovis, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on November 9, 2005.

She was a graduate of Ralls High School, a member of Broadview Baptist Church in Lubbock and had worked as a hairdresser until 1970.

Survivors include; four sons; Ron of Los Angeles, CA, Steve and wife Yolanda of Columbia, South Carolina, Carl, and Robert both of Lubbock, two brothers; Wilburn Hughes of Blossom, and Shannon Hughes of Lubbock, seven grandchildren and two great grandsons.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, May 17, 2007 at Adams Funeral Home in Ralls.
