Rosary for Ricarda Mercado Obregon, 67, of Ralls, were held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, November 6, 1987 in the St. Michael's Catholic Church with Rev. Tom Parampil, pastor, officiating. Mass was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 1987 in the same church and same officiant.Mrs. Obregon died at 12:07 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 1987 in Lubbock west Texas Hospital following a lengthy illness.
She was born June 25, 1920 in Skene, Mississippi and married Isidro Obregon May 7, 1935 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a housewife and a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Ralls. She moved to Ralls in 1960 from Corpus Christi.
Survivors include: Husband, Isidro Obregon of Ralls; 3 sons, Richard Obregon of Lubbock, Isidro Obregon Jr. of Lubbock, Lupe Obregon of Ralls, (1 son, Rufino Obregon preceded in death in 1939); 3 daughters, Rosa Escobar of Ralls, Soyla Luz Luebano of Waxahachie, Texas; Mary Garcia of Dallas; (1 daughter, Lupita Obregon preceded in death in 1940); 1 sister, Anita Sanchez of Corpus Christi; 19 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.
