Birdie Oats

Services for Mrs. Bird Oats, 89, of Lubbock, are pending with Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home of Lubbock.

She died at 7 a.m. Friday at Lakeside Care Center after a lengthy illness.

She was a native of Charleston, Texas, and lived in Lubbock since 1941, after moving from the Cone community. She married Albert Oats in 1910 in Charleston. He preceded her in death in 1940. She was a Baptist.

She is survived by two sons, Tom of Ralls and Scott of Mission; five daughters, Mrs. Jeane Meade of Lubbock, Pansy Server of Welch, Mrs. Charles G. Smith of Lubbock, Billie McEver of Amarillo and Sue Cobb of Bossier City, La.; a sister, Dove Vititow of Victorville, Calif.; 27 grandchildren; 61 great grandchildren; and 27 great great grandchildren.
