Services for Johnnie R. Nunley, Jr. 69, of Ralls were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 1997, in the Ralls First Baptist church with Rev. Jim Morrow, officiating.
Burial followed in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
Mr. Nunley died at 5:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 1997, in the Crosbyton Clinic Hospital following an illness.
He was born September 11, 1928, in Tahoka, TX, and married Carolyn A. Little on Nov. 17, 1945, in Ralls. He was a member of the Ralls First Baptist Church. He owned and operated the Pleasant Valley Gin in Brownfield and had farmed in the Ralls area. He lived in the Ralls area most of his life. He lived in Brownfield from 1975 to June 1991 when he moved back to Ralls.
He is preceded in death by a sister, Billie Jean Nunley who died in 1940, by his father, Johnnie R. Nunley, Sr., who died August 17, 1969, and by his mother,Velma New Nunley who died February 1, 1965.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Nunley of Ralls; two sons, Sammy Nunley of Plainview, and Donald Nunley of Ralls; a daughter, Linda Stevens of Ralls; three sisters, Della Reese of Ralls, Betty Sanders of Aubrey, and Ruby Guin of Brownfield; 6 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Todd Stevens, Nicky Nunley, Geoffrey Gray, Curtis Shiflett, Breech Noland, and Stuart Green.

Carolyn Nunley 86 of Lubbock formerly of Ralls passed away Saturday January 17, 2015. She was born August 22, 1928 in Sulphur Oklahoma to Aubrey and Clara Little.
She was born again, spiritually June 15, 1957 in Cone Texas. She married Johnnie Nunley on November 17, 1945 in Ralls Texas. Carolyn was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ralls, where she taught Sunday school, helped with vacation bible school, and worked in Junior Training Union. She was a member of the Glory Singers, loved fishing and playing forty-two.
She is preceded in death by her husband Johnnie, a son Donald Nunley, a sister Ruth Brinkley, and a brother Larry Little.
Carolyn is survived by a daughter; Linda Stevens and husband Mike of Lubbock, a son; Sammy Nunley and wife Nadine of Waxahachie, a brother; Dean Little of Alvarado, and a daughter in � law Pat Donathan of Ralls. She also leaves behind six grandchildren; Nick Nunley, Shawn Shifleth, Todd Stevens, Misty Stevens, April Gray, and Leslie Nolen, and twelve great-grandchildren.
Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday January 19, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Ralls. Burial will follow in the Ralls Cemetery under the care of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
