Graveside services for William Lawrence "Billy" Nelson, 62 of Lubbock, were held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the Ralls Cemetery Chapel with Rev. James Vaughn officiating. Cremation and burial was under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
Billy was born November 17, 1947 in Clifton, Texas to the late William and Joan (Bluett) Nelson. In 2005 He married Lillian May Shroyer in 2005 in Lubbock. She preceded him in death.
He was a cowboy and had lived in the Lubbock area most of his life.
Survivors include his daughter-in-law, Raiton Nipp of Lubbock and four grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous cousins including Vandy Nelson, Barbara Nelson Lopez, Joyce Nelson Reese and Patricia Nelson Matheny, all of Lubbock, Kenneth Nelson of Grand Prairie and Betty Ann Nelson Jones of Arkansas.
