Curley Nelson

U.S.Flag RALLS (Special) Graveside services for Philden "Curley" Nelson, 72, of Ralls will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Ralls Cemetery with the Rev. Elba Hall, minister of Ralls Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will be directed by Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

Nelson died at 6:30 a.m. Thursday in Heritage Home in Plainvew after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Hurst Spring and married Nell Pearson on Sept. 21, 1941, in Lubbock. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Crosby County Volunteer Fire Department. He also was a member of the Church of Christ and had worked for Crosby County and Dickens County as a maintainer operaor and heavy equipment operator. He moved to Ralls in 1940 from Clifton.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Kenneth of Wheeler; two daughters, Barbara J. Lopez of Tucson, Ariz., and Kay Harrison of Wichita Falls,; 11 grandchildren an 10 great grandchildren.
