RALLS — Ophelia Munoz, 63, departed this life May 22, 2004, at her Ralls home with her loving family by her side.
She was born Dec. 3, 1940, in Burlington, Texas, to Ernestina and Joe M. Silva, Sr. She moved to Ralls in 1951 from Springlake. She married Louis Munoz on Aug. 18, 1956, in Clovis, N.M. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Ralls where she was a member of the Ladies Organization and Eucharistic Minister. She worked for the Ralls Nursing Home for five years and for the last 15 years worked in the cafeteria of the Ralls schools. The family of Mrs. Munoz would like to express their most heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Martinez and all the staff at Lubbock Cancer Center. Thank you for all your special efforts.
We would also like to thank all the other physicians and nurses on South 10 at Covenant Medical Center. Our gratitude also goes out to VistaCare.
Those left to mourn her passing are her husband, Louis Munoz of Ralls; one son, Jimmy Munoz of Albuquerque, N.M.; three daughters, Josie Martinez, Jo Ann Castillo and Jo Linda Cruz, all of Lubbock; her parents, Ernestina and Joe Silva Sr. of Ralls; four brothers, David Silva of Crosbyton, Joe Silva Jr. of Ralls, Loyd Silva of Lubbock and Tommy Silva of Austin; two sisters, Sylvia Gomez of Pflugerville and Dollie Guerra of Lubbock; and five grandchildren Randy, Jennifer, Renee, Nicole and Anna Marie. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 p.m. to service time on Monday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Ralls.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 4 p.m. Monday, May 24, at the same church with Rev. Leonard Pahamtang officiating under direction of Adams Funeral Home in Ralls. The family suggest memorials to VistaCare, 1010 Slide Road, Lubbock, TX 79416.
