U.S.Flag Graveside services for Margaret Starr Moss, 83, of Lubbock will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, November 11, 2005 in the Ralls Cemetery with the Rev. Davis Price officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Mrs. Moss passed away November 7, 2005 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. She was born April 7, 1922 in Corning, New York to Dr. and Mrs. Frank H. Starr. After attending Colby College in Maine and University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada, she joined the Women's Auxiliary Volunteer Service branch of the U. S. Navy. While serving at Sampson Naval Training Base Seneca Lake, New York during WWII she met Clyde P. Moss. They married on September 22, 1945 in Geneva, New York. After discharge from the Navy, they eventually moved to Levelland in 1947 then to Lubbock in 1964. They were members of the Presbyterian Church, and Mrs. Moss was instrumental in the establishment of the Republican Party in Hockley County, serving as Election Judge in the Republican precincts of both Hockley and subsequently Lubbock County. She was a homemaker and was active in Girl Scouts and Tuesday Readers. Mrs. Moss was an ardent supporter of the South Plains Fair for forty + years with numerous submissions in both antiques and baked goods annually.

She is preceded in death by her husband Clyde who passed away on September 1, 2001.

She is survived by her five children; Martha McDaniel of Levelland, Mollie Wellborn of Lubbock, Catherine Ward of Ralls, Claire Musick of Austin and Michael Moss of Del Rio, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
