Judge Pat S. Moore

Pat S. Moore, judge of the 72nd District Court which includes Crosby County, died at 11:40 a.m. Saturday in Methodist Hospital in Lubbock after a lengthy bout with cancer.

Judge Moore, 49, was a Lorenzo native. She became Lubbock's first woman attorney after graduation from the Southern Methodist University Law School in 1949. She was the former Pat S. Smith.

Memorial services were at 11 a.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church in Lubbock, with interment in Ralls Cemetery.

Mrs. Moore assumed the 72nd District Court bench in 1968.

She was named Lubbock's Woman of the Year in 1965.

Her service on the bench continued after the malignancy which claimed her life was diagnosed early last year. She had been hospitalized since Dec.

Survivors include her husband, James F. Moore, also a Lubbock attorney; a son, Phillip Lee, and a daughter, Linda Gail, both of the home; a brother, Jean D. Smith of Ralls; and her grandmothers, Mrs. J. D. Smith of Ralls and Mrs. I. P. Cowman of Weatherford.

Bill Marley, district and county attorney from Crosbyton, was among pallbearers.
