Graveside services for Jessie Menefee, 70, of Lubbock were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at Ralls Cemetery with the Rev. Raymond Roberts officiating.

Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

He died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at Lubbock Healthcare Center.

He was born May 6, 1932, in Nacogdoches, TX.

He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Ralls. He worked for Bill Smith Gin in Ralls and J&L Saw Works in Lubbock. He moved to Lubbock in 1950 from Ralls.

Survivors include his mother, Pauline Menefee of Ft. Worth; five sons, Sylvester, Paul, Lanny and Danny, all of Lubbock, and James of Amarillo; two daughters, Annie McDonald of Richardson, TX and Phyllis Menefee of Garland, TX; two brothers, Bill of Houston and Robert of Andrews; seven sisters, Bernice Evans of Ralls, Cathleen McBride of Lubbock, Golden Smith of Fort Worth, Annie Morgan of Burleson, Georgia Smith of Galveston, Claudia Cotton of Savannah, Ga., and Joyce Bean of Colorado; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
