Memorial services for Elbert Roscoe Melton of Ralls were at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, in the Ralls Church of Christ with Elder P.M. Oden of Lubbock officiating.Interment was made in Ralls Cemetery, under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home. Grandsons were pallbearers.
Mr. Melton was 91. He died at 2;30 a.m. Dec. 22 in Ralls Nursing Home.
An Alabama native, he was a retired farmer and postal employee. He had been a Crosby County resident since 1917.
Mr. Melton and the former Irene Mae Parchman were married in Oklahoma. Mrs. Melton died March 25, 1972.
Survivors include two sons, Cecil Melton of Ralls and E. R. Melton of Plainview; six daughters, Mrs. Thomas Waller of Lubbock, Mrs. Henry Vineyard of Seminole, Mrs. Robert Waller of Salinas, Calif., Mrs. Bobby McHam of Levelland, Mrs. Raymond Chance of Ralls, and Mrs. James Houchin of Petersburg; two brothers, Virgil Melton of Lubbock and Marvin Melton of San Angelo; a sister, Mrs. Delma Wardlow of Crosbyton; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
