Graveside services for Cecil Melton, 81, of Ralls were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 1992, in the Ralls Cemetery with Preston Oden and Bill Buyn officiating.

Burial was under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

He was pronounced dead at 5:30 p.m. Friday, July 3, 1992, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 4, 1910 in Altus, Okla., and married Mamie Ruth Kimbrough on Feb. 2, 1935. She died on Feb. 13, 1990. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son, Max of Oak Harbor, Wash.; a daughter, Georgia Mae Nipp of Ralls; a brother, E. R. of Plainview; five sisters, Sally Houchin of Petersburg, Jo Chance of Ralls, Melvie Waller of Lubbock, Elwanda McHam of Levelland and Bernice Vineyard of Seminole; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Larry Nipp, Phil Rees, Kenny Chance, Raymond Chance, Steven Bell and Buye Oden.
