Obituary

Services for J. S. McNeely, 92

Services for James Samuel McNeely, 92, Lubbock, were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Tabernacle Church at Lubbock. Mr. E. L. Bynum, pastor, officiated. Mr. Ben D. Johnson, associate pastor, assisted. Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter Funeral Home.

McNeely died about 4 a.m. Monday in a Lubbock hospital after a long illness. He operated a farm south of Ralls until his retirement and in recent years he and Mrs. McNeely moved to Lubbock. A native of Mississippi he moved to Texas in 1870 and began farming in this area in 1916.

Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Mrs. J. E. Reid, Lubbock, and Mrs. Clyde Sessom, Ralls; a son, O. B. McNeely, Weslaco; a stepson, Nolan Mullins, Seminole; a sister, Mrs. L. L. Dukes, Gorman, seven grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
