Pioneer Ralls Resident Dies
RALLS (Special) - Services for Mrs. Ophelia Tallulah McCoy, 81, a pioneer resident of Ralls, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel here, with J.R. Woody, minister of Emma Church of Christ, Ralls, officiating.Mrs. McCoy died Saturday at West Texas Hospital, Lubbock. Burial will be in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter Funeral Home.
Mrs. McCoy moved to Ralls in 1906, and her husband later developed nine mine claims near Moab, Utah, in the vicinity of the noted Steens uranium mine.
After her husband's death, Mrs. McCoy remained active in the mine prospecting field.
Survivors include four sons, E.O. Williams, El Paso, C.B. Williams, San Pablo, CA, E.G. Williams, El Paso, and M.R. Williams, with the U.S. Army in Korea; a brother, L.A. Oliver, San Antonio; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Members of the Ralls Masonic Lodge will serve as pallbearers.
