Eloise MayesEloise Wynon Mayes died June 9, 2011, in Canyon, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 13, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church, Canyon, with the Reverend Gene Jones, Minister, First Baptist Church, Canyon, officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Ralls Cemetery, Ralls, Texas. Arrangements are by Holley Funeral Home, Inc., Canyon, Texas.

Wynon was born Sept. 12th in Pilot Point, Texas, to Wheeler Ford and Mavit Bellar Ford. She was a member of Canyon First Baptist Church and was active in the choir and Senior Adults Council. She received the Extension Service Distinguished Service Award in 1995. She was a recipient of the Florence Hall Team Award presented by her peers and the National and State Associations of Family and Consumer Sciences and received the Extensions Superior Service Award. She was Woman of the Year in Plainview, and received both her bachelor's and master's degrees at Texas Tech University.

Wynon will be remembered for her humor, her laughter, her love of life, love of cooking and especially the love of her family. "Her memories will make me smile." .

Family will receive guests from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Holley Funeral Home.
