Willie "Wilancho" Martinez passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2011 at his residence. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2011 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Martin Pina officiating. Burial will be at Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home. There will be a rosary 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Calvillo Funeral Home.
Willie was born on July 19, 1954 to Willie Sr and Guadalupe Martinez in Barney, Texas. He worked in general labor and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
He is survived by two sons, Daniel Martinez of San Antonio and Alvaro Torres of Levelland; two daughters, Christina Martinez of San Antonio and Rachel Martinez of Pleasanton; one brother, Hilario Martinez of Amarillo; six sisters, Josie Hernandez, Epifania Lopez, Celia Jorge, Isabel Rodriguez all of Lubbock, Maria Robledo of Ralls, Esperanza Aguilar of Henderson; fourteen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Janie Martinez.
