U.S.Flag RALLS (Special) - Mass for Marcelo Ramirez Martinez, 61, of Ralls will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday in St. Michael's Catholic Church with the Rev. Tom Parampil, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

Martinez died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in his residence after an illness.

He was born in Charco and moved from Weslaco to Ralls in 1956. He married Elva Ozuna on March 7, 1949, in Edinburg. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and had worked for Rip Griffin's Truck Stop in Lubbock. He was a member of the Cursista and St. Michael's Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Marcelo Jr. of Ralls; four daughters, Rosalinda Mendez, Sylvia Martinez and Norma Martinez, all of Ralls, and Gloria Reyna of Crosbyton; his parents, Amador and Christina Martinez of Ralls; a brother, Israel of Floydada; three sisters, Hortencia Jiminez of San Antonio, Guadelupe Esquibel of Sugarland and Mary Helen Benavidez of El Campo; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Marcelo Martinez Jr., Leo Mendez Jr., Noe Reyna, Lionisio Mendez Sr., Tony Vasquez, Joe Vasquez Jr., Joe Jimenez and Mike Benavidez.
