Minta MarshallMint Marshall was granted her last wish June 13, 2012.......to at last join her husband J.B. "Jocko" Marshall on the 19th hole in that great golf course in the heavens. Mint loved being an only child and an adored wife. She was born to Bill and Winnie Jones in Ralls TX, May 22, 1927 and they spoiled her with love and affection. She was the apple of Bill Jones' eye and her Mother was her best friend.

She married J.B. on July 7, 1943 as he prepared to ship off to the Pacific to serve in WWII. They shared a deep and abiding love for 57 years with a devoted and happy marriage before he passed in 2001. She was warmly welcomed into the Marshall clan and loved her sisters in Law.....Martha, Bobbie Nell and Sue Ellen. Mint was a farmer's wife living first on the "Dr. English" rented farm in a small house with kerosene lamps and an ice box before the rural electrification. She raised two children, Chris and Melissa on the farm before moving the City of Ralls in 1961. She and J.B. also raised a herd of dachshunds over the years.

Mint had a unique personality: she was extremely thin and neat, simply loved leopards and leopard fabric, a bit eccentric and a serious shopper (she loved the smell of Hemphill Wells back in the day"). She longed to be a fashion designer and live in New York City. She and Winnie poured over patterns, fabric and designs with Winnie sewing many memorable dresses and outfits.

Mint was enamored of Elvis Presley and when our entourage with the Anderson's traveled to Las Vegas to see Elvis in the 70's, her dream was fulfilled. Somehow J.B. and B.L. secured front row seats and we were all star struck, enthralled and gained a lifelong memory. Mint and J.B. took up ballroom dancing in the 70s and became fantastic and graceful dancers. They enjoyed many years of dancing; celebrating birthdays, holidays and anniversaries at the Palm Room and The Westernaire with great friends.

When Mint was in her sixties she also helped raise her two much loved grandchildren, John Cole and Carly Mia and they adored their "Gigi". Cole later lived with Gigi her after Poppy died, and they had a very special bond.

Mint spent her final year with the caring and wonderful staff at the Ralls Nursing Home. A Special "Thank You" to Charlotte and all the kind folks who helped Gigi and our family navigate through the tragic and sad Alzheimer's journey.

The family thanks Dr. Steven Alley, who has been a wonderful and understanding doctor even when Gigi was less than cooperative.

A special thanks to two earth angels - Mint's beloved sister in law Bobbie Lee and our extraordinary family friend Billie Anderson who visited our Mother and provided love and support when most needed.

Mint was predeceased by her adored father and mother, Bill and Winnie Jones and her beloved husband, J.B. She is survived by her son, Chris Marshall, her daughter and son-in-law, Richard and Melissa Marshall Green, her two grand children, John Cole and Carly Marshall.

Visitation will be Thursday evening 5-7 at the Adams Funeral Home in Ralls. A Memorial Service at the Ralls Cemetery will be performed Friday morning at 10:00 AM.

If anyone wishes to provide a memorial for Mint, please consider the Alzheimer's Association for research to end this currently untreatable disease.
