Obituary

Funeral services for Pauline E. Mara, 66, of Cone, were at 3 p.m. Sunday in the First Baptist Church of Ralls with the Rev. Lee Fuller and Elder Joe Jackson of Cone officiating.

Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

She died at 12:30 p.m. Friday in Methodist Hospital in Lubbock after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Crosby County and married Roy L. Mara, Nov. 8, 1947 in Plainview. She had lived in Cone since 1955 and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ralls.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Pat Yoakum of Lorenzo; a daughter, Mollie Boren of Alvin; her mother, Alice Littlefield of Cone; two brothers, L. E. "Beans" Littlefield of Cone and Odell Littlefield of Midland; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Prayer services for Roy L. Mara, 92, of Alvin were held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002 at Adams Funeral Home in Ralls with the Rev. Rick Ketron officiating.

Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, 2002.

Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

He died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002 at Clear Lake Regional Hospital in Clear Lake, TX.

He was born Dec. 17, 1909, in Chico, TX.

He married Pauline E. Littlefield on Nov. 8, 1947, in Plainview. She died Sept. 28, 1984.

He was a member of the Ralls First Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a farmer and served in the Army during World War II in northern Africa and Italy. He moved to Decatur in 1990 and to Alvin in 1993. He was a former resident of Cone.

Survivors include a daughter, Mollie Boren of Alvin; a son, Pat Yoakum of Cone and wife Joan; a brother, Jack of Decatur and wife Mildred; a sister, Helen Duckingham of Redding, Calif.; five grandchildren, Cody Boren, Matt Boren, Andy Boren, Roger Yoakum and Pattie Ketron; and two great-grandchildren, Jeffery and Joni Ketron.
