Funeral services for C.W. (Charlie) Mann, 62, a Ralls resident for 29 years, were held in Ralls First Baptist church at 3 p.m. Sunday, with the pastor, Rev. James Abernethy, officiating.The choir, directed by Weldon Beckner, sang "Sweet Bye and Bye" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus," with Mrs. Bud Stephens at the organ. Mrs. Stephens also accompanied Beckner as he sang "Abide With Me."
Mann was born at Paradise, Wise county, April 24, 1891 and married Miss Ida Simpson of Paradise, Nov. 4, 1914. He passed away in Spikes-Holmes hospital Friday. He had suffered a stroke at his home on Nov. 26.
At the time of his passing he was a city employee and agent and distributor for the Lubbock Avalanche. He had been manager of Ralls Chamber of Commerce 10 years previously. He was a Rotarian and for a number of years was treasurer of First Baptist church.
Mann was Red Cross county chairman for several years.
Before moving to Ralls from Hall county where he moved from Decatur in 1920, he was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. The deceased farmed about 10 years after moving to Ralls.
Survivors include his wife, Ida; a daughter, Mrs. Alice Madge McKinney of Ralls; two sons, C.E. and Billy Bob Mann, both of Ralls; five grandchildren, Judy Carolyn and Wayne McKinney, Donna Sue and Tony Mann, all of Ralls; two sisters, Mrs. Allie Combs of Clayton, N.M., and Mrs. Bessie Combs of Bovina, both former Ralls residents; eight brothers, L.Z. of Arlington, J.H. of Bridgeport, R.C. of Wichita Falls, J.P. of Paradise, Burleson of Wheeler, Hary of Levelland, T.D. of Albuquerque, N.M., and Lee Mann of Atoka, Okla.
Lee Mann was the only brother unable to be present because of illness.
Active pallbearers were: John Polvadore, Lenard Anstead, Marvin Beck, Cecil Reese, Bill Jones and W.H. Dismukes.
Honorary pallbearers were W.H. Anstead, C.O. Southward, V.A. Johnson, Ira Prewitt, Roy T. Moore and W.H. Killian.
Interment was in Ralls cemetery directed by Marr-Carter funeral home.

Mrs. Ida Mann, 80, died about 3:40 a.m. Saturday University hospital. Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, in Lubbock.The Rev. Sam Estes, pastor, officiated, assisted by the Rev. Dale Cain, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Ralls.
Burial was in the Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mann had been a resident of Lubbock for the past 18 years, moving here from Ralls, where she had resided since 1925.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Alice Davis of 505 University Ave.; a sister, Miss Rena Belle Simpson of 2515 31st St.; two brothers, R.E. Simpson of Mineral Wells and Ancel Simpson of Decatur; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
