Thelma Mallow
Services for Thelma Oleta Mallow, 77, of Lubbock were at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2002 at Ralls First Baptist Church in Ralls with the Rev. Ray Hill and Rev. Bobby Rine officiating.

Burial was held in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

She died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002 at Lubbock´s University Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 14, 1924, in Ralls, TX.

She married John L. "Jack" Mallow on June 14, 1952 in Ralls, TX.

She was a graduate of Ralls High School and had worked for Security State Bank and Trust Company for 21 years then worked for Lea County State Bank in Hobbs, N.M., for 25 years. She was a member of the Black and Gold Grandmothers Club in Hobbs, NM.

She was a memmber of the Buffalo Springs Community Church. She moved from Ralls in 1959.

She was preceded in death by two grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Jackie Mullinax of Clovis, N.M., and Jerri McLain and Jo Baker, both of Lubbock; two brothers, Robert Reese of Robert Lee and Phil Reese of Ralls; three sisters, Roberta Harrell of Lubbock, Betty Schumacher of Willcox, Ariz., and Sue Crone of Ralls; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Buffalo Springs Community Church, Lubbock, TX 79401.

RALLS - Services for John L. "Jack" Mallow, 82, of Lubbock will be at 1 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Ralls with the Rev. Robert Baker officiating.

Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

He died Wednesday, March 27, 2002.

He was born Nov. 27, 1919, in Ralls, where he married Thelma Oleta Hornsby on June 14, 1952. She died Feb. 10, 2002. He was a World War II veteran. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He had worked as a mechanic and heavy equipment operator in Colorado, New Mexico and Texas. He moved to Lubbock in 1996 from Hobbs, N.M.

Two grandchildren preceded him in death.

Survivors include three daughters, Jackie Mullinax of Clovis, N.M., and Jerri McLain and Jo Baker, both of Lubbock; three sisters, Louise Horry of Moreno Valley, Calif., Bettye Philpott of Cisco and Sis Wright of Kermit; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.
