Services for Emmitt Lynch, 83, of Ralls were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, 1990 in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Ray of First United Methodist Church in Seymour officiating.

The Rev. Russ Byard, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Ralls assisted and burial was in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

He died at 11:05 p.m. Monday, February 5, 1990 in Lubbock's Methodist Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Bell County and moved to Ralls in 1923. He married Juanita Tinnin October 28, 1928, in Floydada. He owned and operated Lynch Department Store. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, where he had served on the board of stewards. He was former president of the Ralls Chamber of Commerce and a longtime member of the Ralls PTA.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dwayne of Lubbock and Doyce of Arlington; a sister, Jean Wells of Salado; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services for Juanita Lynch, 94, of Ralls will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2002, at Adams Funeral Home in Ralls with Rev. Floyd Haddock officiating.

Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home in Ralls.

She died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at IHS Hospital in Arlington, TX. She was born June 25, 1908, in Granbury, TX. She married Emmitt Rufus Lynch on Oct. 27, 1928, in Floydada, TX. He died Feb. 5, 1990.

She was a member of the Ralls First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir for 30 years. She was the first den mother for the Cub Scouts in Ralls. In 1942, the Lynches bought the Golden Rule store and consolidated it with their 5-and-10 cent store which became Lynch's Department Store. It later became Lynch-Tinnin Department Store.

She lived in Ralls most of her life.

Survivors include two sons, Dwayne Lynch of Lubbock and Doyce Lynch of Arlington and wife, Terry; six grandchildren, Jay Lynch, Dixie Chambers, Linday Hobbs, Wylie Lynch, Jana Stepp, and Rollie Lynch; and four great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to Ralls First United Methodist Church or to Lubbock Meals on Wheels.
