Rites Set Today For Mrs. Rachel Loflin

Funeral services for Mrs. Rachel Colvard Loflin, 50, wife of Reed B. Loflin, Sr., will be held at the First Methodist church in Ralls at 3 o'clock this afternoon, with burial in Ralls cemetery. Mrs. Loflin died unexpectedly of a heart attack about 4 p.m. Sunday at her home at 1723 Thirtieth.

Rev. Uel D. Crosby, executive secretary of the board of education of the Northwest Texas conference, Dr. H.I. Robinson, pastor of the First Methodist church here, and Rev. W.R. Beaird of Ralls First Methodist church will officiate at the funeral.

The body is at Plains Funeral home, and will lie in state from 10 a.m. Tuesday until time to remove the body to Ralls for services. Friends have been invited to go to the residence.

Marr Funeral home will assist with final arrangements at Ralls.

Mrs. Loflin is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Margary McGee of Taft, CA, Mrs. Ruth Jones of Hopewell, VA., and Miss Jane Loflin of Lubbock; one son, Reed B. Loflin, Jr., of Lubbock; her mother, Mrs. Anna Colvard of Strawn; five sisters, Mrs. Ford Oglesby, of Eldorado, Mrs. E.O. Ramsey of Ralls, Mrs. W.B. Groseclose of San Angelo, Mrs. Dorsett Stewart of Cleburne and Mrs. Dick Adams of Ozona; one brother, Ed Colvard of Denver, and one granddaughter, Judy Jones of Hopewell, Va. Mrs. Loflin's father died in 1940 and a sister in 1914.

Mrs. Loflin joined the Presbyterian church in early life. In 1924, when she moved to Ralls from East Texas, she joined the Methodist church with her husband. The family moved to Lubbock in 1945. She and her husband were associated in Loflin-Ware Ladies apparel shop.

The two daughters from out of town were visiting in Lubbock Sunday. The family had gone to church and Mrs. Loflin felt ill when they returned home. After dinner, she became ill and died in a short time.
