Wanda King Services for Wanda Gay King, 75, of Lubbock, were held Wednesday, August 12, 1998, in Franklin-Bartley Chapel.

Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home.

King died Saturday, August 8, 1998, at her residence.

She was born on November 5, 1922, in Hasse. She married Eric Hillyard on Jan. 17, 1942 in Crosby County. He died in 1956. She graduated from Ralls High School and Draughn's Business College. She worked as head accountant for the South Plains Telephone Co-op for 37 years. She retired in 1993. She was a 40-year member of the Metro City Chapter of the American Business Women's Association.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Brown Lewis of Lubbock; a brother, J.H. "Cotton" Whitehead of Ralls; a sister, Jo Ann Katten of Harlingen; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
