RALLS (Special) - Services for W. F. (Slats) Kendrick, 60, a Ralls resident since 1937, will be at 3 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church here.
Officiating will be the Rev. C. M. Fields, pastor, and the Rev. James Abernathy, former pastor. Burial will be in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Carter Funeral Home.
Kendrick died in his home Saturday morning after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was a native of Runnels County, coming to the South Plains in 1918. A veteran of World War II, he was engaged in selling custom farm machinery here.
Survivors are the wife, Ayleen; his mother, Mrs. Ada Kendrick, Slaton; a brother, Tip, Slaton; and one sister, Mrs. Garland Harris, Hereford.
Pallbearers will be Campdon Lawson, Hubert Phillips, Thurmon Flowers, Bob Wilson, Albert Clines and Harold Priddy.

Services for Virginia Ayleen Kendrick, 92, of Ralls will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 22, 2011 at the Ralls First Baptist Church with Rev. Floyd Haddock and Rev. T.J. Messer officiating. Burial will follow in the Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 4-5 PM Friday, January 21, 2011 at Adams Funeral Home in Ralls.
Ayleen passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2011 in Ralls. She was born on September 19, 1918 in Bridgeport to the late Leon and Ada (Reddell) Reed. She married Willie Floyd "Slats" Kendrick on June 30, 1945 in Lorenzo. She moved to Ralls in 1941. Ayleen was a member of the Ralls First Baptist Church where she was the organist for many years, and she also played for the Lions Club for several years. A beautician, Ayleen worked at Mary's Beauty Shop for 53 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Floyd "Slats" Kendrick on March 25, 1966.
Survivors include one brother and his wife, Kenneth and Anna Reed of Idalou, a sister, Laura Hopper of Anton, and several nieces and nephews. Casket Bearers will be Leon Reed, Roger Adams, Eddie Huddleston, Jr., Ray Cooper, Garland Cooper, Bill Anderson and serving as Honorary Casket Bearer, Jimmy anderson.
