Graveside services for Joe Harvey Jones, 56, of Ralls were held at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 25, 2006 in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home.Joe passed away Tuesday[Wed], November 22, 2006 at University Medical Center in Lubbock.
He was born December 7, 1949 in Crosbyton to Hatton and Vuyneta (Stevens) Jones. He attended Ralls High School where he served as Band Captain and was All State Tuba Player. He was a founding member and served as the first President of "The Tie Club" and was an avid hunter and trap shooter. He was a member of the Church of Christ, a charter member of the Ralls Volunteer Ambulance Service and worked for Hinton Well Service in Ralls for 35 years.
Joe is preceded in death by his mother, Vuyneta Jones who passed away November 10, 1994. Survivors include his father; Hatton Jones of Ralls, his twin sister and her husband; Penny and Roger Willeford of Sanger, Texas, two brothers; David Jones of Ralls and Tommy Jones of Colorado City, Texas, several nieces and nephews, and his faithful dog Joe.
Joe's family and friends would like to thank the Doctors, nurses and all the staff at the Burn Center at UMC for their wonderful care of Joe.
Casket bearers will be Buzz Cooper, Norman Roye, Danny McDuff, Kent Anderson, Steve Verett and Kirt B. Wyrick.
The family suggests memorials to the Ralls EMS, 800 Ave. I, Ralls, Texas 79357.
