FLOYDADA, April 28 (Special) Mrs. W. Ray Johnson, 55, a Floydada High School English teacher until least October, died at 11:50 a.m. Sunday at her homehere following a long illness.Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the City Park Church of Christ here, with graveside services and burial in Ralls Cemetery. High school classes will be dismissed during the funeral, according to school officials.
Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of the late R.L. (Big Davis) Travis, widely-known pioneer of Crosby County. She had taught English since 1947, and resigned at mid-term because of illness. She was a graduate of Ralls High School and received degrees from Abilene Christian College and the University of Colorado.
Survivors include her husband, a son, Conray; three sisters, Mrs. Claude Benton, Ralls; Mrs. Charles E. Tyer, Ralls; Mis Bettye Travis, Odessa; two brothers, Clyde, Ralls, and R.L. Jr., Clovis.

Services for W. Ray Johnson, 64, 3433 53rd St. will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Broadway Church of Christ. Officiating will be Dr. F. W. Mattox, president of Lubbock Christian College, assisted by Dr. H. O. Wilson, LCC registar, and Dr. William S. Banowsky, minister of Broadway Church of Christ.Burial will be in City of Ralls Cemetery under direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
Johnson died Friday at his home following several months´ illness. A teacher in Ralls public schools the past three years, he commuted from Lubbock to Ralls during the school term. Prior to moving to Lubbock he was in the locker business in Floydada.
Johnson received his bachelor´s degree from Abilene Christian College and a master´s degree from the University of Colorado. He was a member of Broadway Church of Christ and Kappa Delta Phi.
Surviving are the wife; a son, D. Conray, 3302 20th St.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Ken Hancock, 2711 53rd St., and Mrs. Ronald Harris, 5323 33rd St.; three brothers, Roy A., Dallas, E.B., Freeport, ad J.C., Albany, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Joel Nelson, Vista, Calif., Mrs. E. A. Swedenborg, Menio Park, Calif., Mrs. H.A. Schroth, Billings, Mont., and Mrs. Harry Koenig, Johnstown, Colo.; two half-brothers, Bill, Odessa, and Jack, Houston, and his stepmother, Mrs. J.U. Johnson, Eastland.
