Veteran   Services for Billy Johnson, 55, of Ralls were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, 1996 in the Ralls First Baptist Church with the Rev. Vance Mitchell, pastor of the Floydada First Assembly of God Church, and Rev. Jim Morrow, pastor of the Ralls First Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial followed in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Mr. Johnson died Monday, Sept. 23, 1996, in Lubbock St. Mary's Hospital following an illness. He was born Feb. 1, 1941, in Crosbyton and married Mary Cockren on May 7, 1960, in Crosbyton.

He attended Ralls First Baptist Church, and had worked for Abell-Prewitt Implement Co. until February 1996.

He was veteran of the U.S.Army, serving from 1959 to 1961. He had lived in the Ralls and Crosbyton area all his life. He is preceded in death by his parents H.B. and Georgia Johnson, by one brother, Bobby Jim "Corky" Johnson, and by two sisters, Georgia Bishop and June Davis.

Survivors include his wife, Mary of Ralls; three sons, Billy Johnson Jr. and Tommy Johnson both of Idalou, and Brian Johnson of Ralls; two brothers, Fred Johnson of Crosbyton and Eldeen Johnson of Fort Stockton; two sisters, Johnnie Murphy of Seagraves and Pearl Purdue of Lamar, Ark.; and 10 grandchildren.
