Funeral services for Mirl Jackson, 69, of Lubbock were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with the Rev. Clarence Brown, pastor, officiating.

Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Jamison and Son Funeral Home of Lubbock.

Jackson died Tuesday in South Park Hospital in Lubbock after a lengthy illness.

The Sulphur Springs native had lived in Lubbock since 1950.

Survivors include a daughter, Geraldine Hamilton of Abernathy; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
