Services for Van Earl Howe, 76, of Loenzo were held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, July 2, 2003, at the Emma Church of Chris in Ralls with Richard Jones officiating. Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.
He died Monday, June 30, 2003, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born Dec. 15, 1926, in Baylor County. He married Mary Olene Studer Feb. 24, 1945, in Seymour.
He was a member of the West Side Church of Christ in Lorenzo and a lay minister. He worked at Al Cooper Motor Co. and Hurst Ford Mercury from 1955 to 1986 as a mechanic and service manager. He served in the U.S. Army infantry during WWII. He moved to Ralls in 1955 and then to Lorenzo in 2001.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Chester, J.C., and Frank, and a grandson, Brandon Howe.
Survivors include: his wife, Olene of Lorenzo; his children; Earlene Jared of Valparaiso, IN, Kathy Burt of Ralls, Willie Howe of Red Oak, Vandra Wood of Idalou, Amy Orendorff of Seattle, WA, Oletta Spurin of Wasilla, AK, and Leesa Boling of Ralls; 3 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; two sisters, Lillian Royston of Seymour, Marie Ware of Dallas; and a brother, Lonnie Howe of Graham.

Mary �Olene� Howe, 87 of Lorenzo passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015. She was born July 18, 1928 in Seymour, TX to Howard and Mary (Norton) Studer. She married Van Earl Howe on February 24, 1945 in Seymour.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed singing, gardening and cooking. She loved playing cards and dominoes, especially Pinochle and Forty-Two. Olene loved helping others when she could, but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, whom she adored.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Van Earl Howe.
Olene is survived by her six daughters; Earlene Jared of Valparaiso, IN; Kathy Burt of Ralls; Vandra Wood of Idalou; Amy Orendorff of Lubbock; Oletta Spurlin of Wasilla, AK; Leesa Boling of Idalou; her son; Willie Howe of Red Oak; two sisters; Reba White of Lubbock; Jaetta Loftis of Lorenzo; twenty-five grandchildren; forty-five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
