Graveside services for Bernice Hoppes, 75, of Lubbock were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 1994, in Ralls Cemetery with Bishop Ritch Sorenson of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints officiating.Interment was directed by Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock.
Mrs. Hoppes died Sept. 28, 1994, in Southern Manor Care Center.
She was born on Jan. 17, 1919, in Denton. She was a former Woman of the Year for the Arthritis Foundation and was a volunteer director for several care centers. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her husband, Walter Hoppes, died in 1976, and a son, Rex, died in 1974.
She was a licensed vocational nurse.
Survivors include two sons, Troyce Stacker of Lubbock and Clifton Stacker of Abilene; five daughters, Sandra Curry, Joy Robertson and Janeice Eastwood, all of Lubbock, Moretta Clark of Wylie and Doretta Dunham of Stamford; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
