Services for Edwin Bryan Hoople, 40, of Lubbock were held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 5, 1986 in Ralls Cemetery with the Rev. Hal L. Opperman, associate pastor of Trinity Church, officiating.

Burial was under the direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

He was found shot to death November 24, 1986 in an Odessa apartment. Justice of the Peace Virgil Lumpee ruled the death a homicide. A suspect in the case has been arrested in Odessa, according to police there.

Hoople was born in San Antonio and had lived in the Lubbock and Lorenzo areas most of his life. He was a truck driver. He was a member of Trinity Church.

Survivors include a son, David Michael of Lubbock; a daughter, Sandra Westberry of Lubbock; a brother, Robert Paul Hood of Las Vegas, Nev.; four sisters, Ruth Serveire and Minnie Howard, both of Irving, Dorothy Nelson of Lubbock and Sally Arnold of Marlton, NJ; and a half sister, Frances Betty Underhill.
