Services for Mack Holcombe, 80, of Lorenzo were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001 at Adams Funeral Home in Ralls with Joseph Johnston officiating.

Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

He died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001 at Lubbock Covenant Hosp.

He was born Sept. 21, 1921, in Alabama.

He married Ima Gene Taylor on Dec. 31, 1959, in Lubbock.

He was a Baptist. He was the manager of the Lorenzo Textile Mills for several years and worked in the research department at Texas Tech Univ. He served with the Navy and Air Force during World War II.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Holcombe.

Survivors include his wife, Ima Gene Holcombe of Lorenzo; a son, Coy Holcombe of Malakoff, TX; a stepson, David McDaniel of Lubbock; two stepdaughters, Judy Jenkins of Lubbock and Jo Lynn Herrington of Idalou; a brother, Boots Holcombe of Alabama; three sisters, Margaret Limbo and Mary Stewart, both of Alabama, and Ruby Copeland of Missouri; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Services for Ima Gene Holcombe, 85, of Lorenzo were at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at Adams Funeral Home in Ralls, with Elder George Johnson officiating. Burial followed in the Ralls Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Mrs. Holcombe passed away Monday, Jan. 29, 2007 in Lubbock's VistaCare Center.

She was born Dec. 17, 1921, in Ralls to the late LeRoy Witt and Eula (Smyer) Taylor. She married Joe McDaniel who preceded her in death Nov. 3, 1957. On Dec. 31, 1959 she married Mack Coy Holcombe in Lubbock. He preceded her in death Nov. 28, 2001. A graduate of Plainview High School, Ima Gene was a homemaker, member of the Baptist Church and wrote the Lorenzo Puzzler for the Lorenzo newspaper. Her favorite pastime was making craft items which she sold at local craft shows. She had lived in the Lorenzo area for fifty years and was a supporter of Cal Farley's Boys Ranch.

Survivors include two sons, David McDaniel of Lexington, Ky. and Coy Holcombe of Eustace; two daughters, Judy Jenkins of Lubbock and Jo Lynn Herrington of Idalou; a brother, John O. Taylor of Lubbock; 11 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
