Obituary

RALLS (Special) — P.A. Harbison, 73, a resident of Ralls since 1933, died at his home here Tuesday morning following a long illness.

Funeral services are scheduled at 4 p.m. today in the Emma Church of Christ. Officiating will be Rene Woody, minister. Burial will be in the Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.

A native of Bagota, Harbison was a retired grocer. He formerly operated grocery stores in Ralls, Slaton and Snyder, as well as other South Plains points. He had been a resident of West Texas since 1920.

Survivors include the wife, Golden; two daughters, Mrs. Floyd Stanley, Post, and Mrs. Bart Lynch, Crosbyton; two brothers, Luther, Lamesa, and Willie, Bagota; a sister, Mrs. Mable Childress, Bagota; and a granddaughter, Paula Kaye Lynch, Crosbyton.

Graveside services for Golden Grace Harbison, 99, of Ralls were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, 198, in Ralls Cemetery with Ken Free, minister of the Emma Church of Christ, officiating.

Burial was under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls.

Mrs. Harbison died in the Ralls Nursing Home at 9:25 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, 1998.

She was born in Minter, TX, on July 8, 1898, and married P.A. Harbison on Sept. 24, 1918, in Paris, TX. He preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 1965. She was a member of the Church of Christ and worked for the Navy Ship Yards in San Pedro, CA. during World War II. She was a homemaker and moved to the Ralls area in 1933 from Slaton.

She was also preceded in death by 2 daughters, Dauline Lynch on Jan. 18, 1997, and Pauline Harbison, in 1937; and by a step-daughter, Ruby Stanley.

Survivors include a son-in-law, Bart Lynch of Plainview; a granddaughter, Paula Lynch Swafford of Marlow, OK; a great-granddaughter,and a great-great-grandchild.
